Today, the largest hard cider marker in the Carolinas opened their doors to hundreds of excited locals. Only a few miles from Sierra Nevada Brewery, Bold Rock Hard Cider welcomed visitors to their 22,500 square foot bottling facility at 72 School House Road in Mills River. The two level tasting room overlooks the production space, where locally sourced apples will be turned into alcoholic beverages available in a variety of flavors.

Mike Karnowski, former brewer at Green Man Brewing and curator of their renowned sour program, is bottling beer at his own brewery in downtown Weaverville. Zebulon Artisan Ales is going to be totally different from anything else brewing in town. Rather than distributing kegs of beer to local bars and restaurants, the entire seven barrel batch will go into 750ml corked-and-caged bottles. And these bottles are due to start rolling out very soon!

The brewing facility and tasting room are expected to open sometime in 2016, which has had excitement at a peak. However, recently the neighborhood has been buzzing about news that the company, which is currently employee-owned, has hired investment advisors Lazard Middle Market to explore potential sale of the company for at least $1 Billion.

Highland Brewing Company today announced it will release its new, year-round West Coast-style IPA on Jan. 4, 2016. It is the first of 12 new beers the 22-year-old brewery will debut in 2016. Highland will release two other year-round beers, three new seasonals, two new Warrior Series beers and four Kinsman Project beers in 2016.
